Custom Fields

Table of Contents

A custom field is a feature in Ixonn which allows you to add fields based on your needs. With this ability, Ixonn can fit easily your company requirements.
Follow the steps to add a new custom field.

  1. Go to Setup -> Custom Fields
  2. Click New Custom Field
  3. Select where this field will belong (the options listed in the dropdown are the only available). If you are selecting Leads, will be shown also as an option when converting to a client to merge the fields in the client area. Based on other custom fields or existing database fields)
  4. Name – Give the field name.
  5. Select Type – Text (only letters), Number (only numbers), Input (text and numbers), Checkbox, Select, etc..
  6. The Options field is for select, multi-select and checkboxes fields type only. If your new custom field is select or checkbox, separate the options with comma eg.: orange, juice, banana
  7. Order (Default will be 0) – This is if you have multiple fields for the same feature and you want to reorder.
  8. Disabled – If you set the field as disabled, it won’t be shown anywhere. If values are found they won’t be deleted but if you delete the field instead of disabling it, all values will be deleted.
  9. Required – if you set it as required,  the field will be compulsory to continue.
  10. Restrict visibility for administrators only – If you check this option the visibility/add/edit to this custom field will be only for administrators.
  11. Visibility – Also you can control the visibility of this field. Do you want to show it on the table, pdf, customer portal? Note that the visibility is not the same for each field. NOTE: If you check visibility to the customer’s portal and the field is not related to the customer profile will be also added in the tables while listing.  All fields that have visibility as “show on table” are checked will be added before the options data. If no options in this table will be added at the end.
  12. Grid – Size (Bootstrap) of the column. 12 is the maximum size.

Click save and check the field where you have added.

It’s not recommended to add more than 10 custom fields for one feature and always limit the number (max 5) of custom fields that are shown in tables. Less is better and faster.
